Harvest's Response to COVID-19

Dear Harvesters,

“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1, ESV). The Lord protects, preserves, supplies, and cares for us. He is the good Shepherd, and He loves His flock (John 10:11, 14). As one of his many under-shepherds, my goal is to emulate the Chief Shepherd and do my best to care for the local flock He has entrusted to me. Part of this care has to do with keeping each of you as safe as possible, especially during times of crisis. Therefore, I have decided, after much counsel and deliberation, to cancel on-campus meetings at Harvest till it is safe for us to gather together again. I do not do so lightly, but in conjunction with common-sense, wisdom, and the wishes of our government, which we are encouraged as believers to obey (Romans 13:1).

In place of on-campus meetings, we will provide live-streaming of Sunday services, complete with worship and a message. In addition, we may do a mid-week video update/message to keep you spiritually sustained and encouraged. Please know that Harvest is not defined by on-campus meetings. You and I are the Body of Christ. Harvest will continue to thrive, grow, and prosper; it will simply assume a different format for a time. We are a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle, holy and without blemish (Eph. 5:27)! Keep in mind that the Head of the Church, Jesus Christ, has promised—“And on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell [coronavirus] shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18, ESV).

Finally, I ask that you stay as connected to your church family as possible, for Harvest is truly a family. It is vital that we reach out to each other and keep each other in prayer. Consider sharing with fellow Harvesters sources of encouragement that the Lord brings to you. Take your natural and spiritual vitamins! Get plenty of sleep at night and rest in the Lord! Eat regular meals (chicken soup is always a winner) both natural and spiritual! And above all, remember this—

“Fear Not, Only Believe, You and Your Household Shall Be Well!”

With love,
Pastor David
